The Simple Success Strategies of the True Entrepreneur
I know that we’re all looking for that secret success principle, that key to unlock our hidden potential and catapult us to the heady heights.
We will read positive-thinking books, hold onto quotes like the one by Jim Rohn above, and watch motivational vids on YouTube.
And the more we do, the more we feel like we must be making progress, because we feel better about ourselves, we’re more positive, have more energy.
But if it doesn’t affect our daily routine, nothing is really going to change in the long-term.
And I’m writing this as much to myself as to you. So don’t feel singled out!
See, the truth about success, is that it’s a habit.
And the secret lies inside of our daily routines.
I don’t know where this quote comes from but it sums up what we should be aiming for:
“Do Something Today that Your Future Self will Thank You For.”
If you think about it, we all have 24 hours in a day. Successful, Rich, Poor, Old, Young. Everyone has the same.
It’s how we use that time that makes a difference.
You say, “yeah, but I have a job that’s killing me, I have no time.”
I know what you mean. But seriously, 15 minutes per day of focused, intentional work FOR YOU can change your life.
OK, it may take me more than 15 mins to write this Blog post, but most of the ‘work’ has been thinking about it, and I can do that any time of day.
But Blogging is doing something Positive for me, right now.
It enables me to Focus my thoughts and Clarify them
It draws on different skills, such as Communication and Creativity
It acts as an Advertisement for my business
It helps others with good Information
And I can look back and see how far I’ve come
Planning for Success
I’d like to say that I’m great at planning and I have everything mapped out, but it’s just not true.
What I have started to do now, though, is to create a 90 Day Vision every quarter, and break it down.
So I have a 30 Day Plan based on my 90 Day vision.
And I have a 7 Day Plan based on my 30 Day Plan.
And so I know what I need to do in the next week, to move towards my goals.
So that’s where my daily routine comes in.
Some days I’ll work on my Blog. Some days I’ll be educating myself, reading, studying, watching training videos. Some days I’ll be planning, writing thoughts in my journal, praying.
As long as I do something each day to inch me closer to my goals. And the more I incorporate these things into my daily routine, the easier it becomes, and success just becomes a habit. A really good habit.
By the way, if you don’t yet have any goals, I suggest that you work on that first, otherwise you’re going to lack the motivation.
Take some time over the next couple of days to sit down and create a 90 Day Vision for you business and your life.
Think about what you’d like it to look like 3 months from now.
Then start to break it down so that you can see what needs to be done in the next 30 days. (next month do it again).
Then start to plan out the next week, just something each day that’s going to move you in the right direction.
To Your Success (hey, and mine too!)
